Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats Recipe: Cooking chocolate Rice Krispie Treats on the stovetop is my preferred method of preparation due to the fact that chocolate can be temperamental when it is melting. You could, on the other hand, prepare them in the microwave.

If we are in need of a treat that is simple to prepare, we frequently make Rice Krispie Treats. It only takes ten minutes to make them, and they are guaranteed to be a hit with everyone. Classic Rice Krispie Treats, peanut butter, Oreo cookies, s’mores, Biscoff, and many other sweets are some of our favorites.

Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

These Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats are another one of our favorites. As a result of the incorporation of cocoa powder and chocolate chips, they are absolutely bursting with the flavor of chocolate. As a result of the treats being infused with a large quantity of melted marshmallows as well as mini marshmallows, they are exceptionally pliable and sticky. There is no better combination than chocolate and marshmallows!

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 16 ounce bag mini marshmallows, plus 2 cups mini marshmallows, divided
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for sprinkling
  • 8 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Melted chocolate, for drizzling, optional

How to make it

  • Use nonstick cooking spray to grease a baking pan measuring 9 inches by 13 inches. Should you so desire, you can line the dish with parchment paper. Put the pan outside. To melt the butter, place it in a large pot and set the heat to medium.
  • Continue stirring the mixture after adding the 16-ounce bag of marshmallows until the marshmallows have completely melted. If you overcook the marshmallows, they will become dry and brittle.
  • Take the pan off the heat and use a whisk to combine the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt from the sea. After adding the rice krispies, give the mixture a gentle stir until the marshmallows are evenly distributed throughout the cereal.
  • Add the chocolate chips and the remaining two cups of mini marshmallows, and stir until combined. There will be a melting of the chocolate chips into the treats. Place the mixture in the pan that has been prepared.
  • To evenly distribute the mixture throughout the pan, use a spatula that has been greased. Alternatively, you can use your hands to press the mixture into the pan after lightly greasing them. As a garnish, if desired, sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • In addition, if you so desire, you can drizzle a little bit of melted chocolate over the top.
The Rice Krispie Treats should be allowed to cool before being cut. Squares should be cut out and served.

How to Store

To keep the treats fresh for up to three days, store them in an airtight container. Be sure not to refrigerate. If you put them in the refrigerator, they will become overly dry, as well as brittle and hard.
