Pepperoni Pizza Recipe – Step by Step Guide

Pepperoni Pizza Recipe – Step by Step Guide: Most of the time, pepperoni pizza is a guaranteed winner for dinner. To tell you the truth, however, I don’t prepare pizza for my children very often. Since I consider pizza to be a cheat night, I order it delivered to my house.

Pepperoni Pizza Recipe – Step by Step Guide

When I made the decision to bake pizza at home, I was aware that it needed to be of a higher quality than the typical pizza delivery. It required a substantial amount of pepperoni, a beautiful crust, an excellent flavor, and possibly even a couple of surprises in order to be considered exceptional.

Why I love this recipe:

Inexpensive: The key to success is our homemade pizza dough, which is not only effortless but also inexpensive to create (I bet you already have the stuff you need!). I like to make it in the morning, which takes me ten minutes, so that it is ready to use when it is time for pizza night.
Optional cooking techniques include cooking our homemade pepperoni pizza in the oven, pizza oven, air fryer, or on the grill. You may even cook it on the grill. When it comes to your favorite method, follow my advice.
When we have pizza night, one of our favorite things to do is to let everyone make their own pizza. This is a big hit with our children and our friends.

How to make Pepperoni Pizza

  • Prepare Pizza Dough The sugar and yeast should be combined with a quarter cup of warm water. After stirring the yeast to dissolve it, allow it to rest for five minutes. The surface of it ought to be foamy. A total of one cup of warm water, olive oil, salt, and vinegar should be added to the mixture.
  • The dough should be kneaded for approximately seven minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic, and the mixing should begin on medium-low speed. The flour should be added gradually, one cup at a time. Move the dough to a basin that has been greased, and then cover it with a dry towel or plastic wrap that has been greased.
  • Allow it to rise for one to one and a half hours, or until it has approximately the same volume as before. To roll out the dough, punch it down gently and set it on a counter top that has been lightly greased or dusted with flour.
  • To create approximately two 14-inch pizzas or three 9-inch pizzas, divide the dough into two or three equal pieces. The dough should be rolled out and stretched to the appropriate size and thickness. Olive oil should be brushed onto the dough. The pizza crust should be layered with pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni before being assembled.

Cook Pepperoni Pizzas:

  • Prepare the oven by preheating it to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (with a pizza stone inside, if you have one). When using a pizza stone, coat a pizza peel or parchment paper with cornmeal and flour, then place pizza dough on top of the pizza peel or paper.
  • If you are not using a pizza stone, flatten the dough into a pizza pan. Make a few holes in the top of the dough with a fork, and then pre-bake the dough on the pizza pan. Alternatively, you can place the dough onto a hot pizza stone and pre-bake it for three to four minutes instead.
  • Take the pizza out of the oven and add the toppings and pizza sauce. Put back into the oven and continue baking for another five to twelve minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling. The pizza oven method involves coating a pizza peel with cornmeal and flour, then placing rolled-out dough on top of the mixture.
  • Add the toppings. Put into a pizza oven that has been preheated and cook it in accordance with the directions for the pizza oven. Prepare the grill by heating it to a medium-high temperature. The dough should be rolled out and then placed on a sheet of parchment paper.
  • The pizza should be brushed with oil, then carefully flipped onto the grill with the oil side facing down, and the parchment paper should be removed. Cook with the cover on the grill for two to three minutes, or until grill marks appear on the bottom.
  • After the pizzas have been flipped onto a platter, add the sauce and pepperoni pizza toppings to the side that has been cooked. Continue cooking the pizzas for an additional three to five minutes after lowering the heat.

Make Ahead and Freezing Instructions:

  • If you want to create the pizza dough ahead of time, you should make the dough up until the point where it reaches the first rise, spray it with oil, cover it with a lid that fits tightly, and place it in the refrigerator for at least a few hours or overnight, until you are ready to construct the pizza.
  • The dough should be rolled out and then pre-baked in the oven for five minutes before being used for take-and-bake pizza. Refrigerate the pizza for several hours, covering it thoroughly with plastic wrap, and topping it with the toppings of your choice. This should be done until you are ready to finish cooking the pizza in the oven, pizza oven, or on the grill.
  • When you want to freeze pizza dough, you should first roll it into a ball, then spray it with oil, and then place it in a container that is airtight and safe for freezing for up to three months. Before using the dough, allow it to thaw in the refrigerator.
  • Pre-baking the pizza crust for five minutes, adding toppings, covering the pizza with plastic wrap and foil, and storing it in the freezer for up to one month is the process that is required to freeze take-and-bake pizzas. If you want the greatest results, defrost before baking.
